A little more about me.
The work is only part of the story.
I'm a father and a husband first. Beyond that, I've spent much of my life competing, teaching, coaching, building businesses and, more recently, working in technology and partnerships. Writing has increasingly become part of how I make sense of all of it.
I've had successes I'm proud of and failures that were difficult to accept. I've made mistakes I wish I hadn't, changed direction more than once, and have had to keep working on myself along the way, to make sure I don't drown or stagnate.
I'm still learning. I hope that doesn't change.
People have always interested me.
I've always been interested in people — what motivates us, what holds us back, how we communicate, why we behave the way we do, and what helps us perform better. Building businesses added another layer: what happens when you put people inside teams, cultures and systems and ask them to create something together.
Technology has widened that lens again. I'm increasingly interested in what happens when those systems can reach thousands or millions of people — and what we need to understand about humans before we try to scale anything for them.
There is still far more here that I want to understand.

I work with software companies, technology partners, and the studios and gyms using those systems every day. I get to see what people are trying to build, where technology helps, where it gets in the way, and what happens when different products and businesses need to work together.
After spending so many years operating and coaching businesses one at a time, I'm fascinated by what becomes possible when technology and partnerships can help at a much larger scale. I'm also increasingly interested in the responsibility that comes with that scale.
I haven't lost the joy of working one-to-one with founders, either. I still love being in the corner of someone who's building something they genuinely care about. These days I simply choose to do that selectively, with people and projects that inspire me.
The ideas and opinions I share here are my own. Outside projects, advisory work and collaborations are considered selectively and subject to my professional obligations.
Still working it out.
There are plenty of things I'm still trying to understand, and I hope that remains true. Writing gives me a place to explore them — sometimes from experience, sometimes from research, and sometimes simply by following a question to see where it leads.
That's where most of my unfinished thinking lives.
